Lakshmi Mantra:
ॐ श्रीं श्रीये नमः
om śrīṁ śrīye namaḥ
How to Do Pooja
- Place a white cloth on the pooja altar and draw seven swastikas from turmeric and kumkum.
- Cover the left side of the altar from a red piece of cloth.
- Place the statue of Lakshmi on your left and Ganesh on your right.
- Lakshmi should be on the red cloth and Ganesh on the white cloth.
- Take a clean plate cover with rice and rose petals. Place a photo of Shri Vishnu on the plate and keep it behind the Lakshmi statue.
- Now light a mustard oil lamp and a ghee lamp.
- Keep the Ghee lamp on the left side and Oil lamp on the right side.
- Offer eleven times Durva Grass to Shri Ganesh with this Mantra:
वक्रतुण्डाय हुं | vakratundaya huṁ - Light an incense stick and offer it.
- Now offer the two lamps by showing them to the three deities.
- Offer pink or yellow clothes to Shri Lakshmi and red clothes to Shri Ganesh.
- Offer nevaidyam (bhog) to all the deities. Best is to offer kheer, jaggery and sweets made of gram flour.
- Offers flowers to all the three deities.
- Offer lotus flowers to Shri Vishnu and Lakshmi.
- Now Sit down do the Lakshmi Mantra and then the Ganesh mantra.

kreeṁ kreeṁ dakṣiṇakālike ṭhaḥ ṭhaḥ
Shiva Mantra
ॐ नमः शिवाय | om namaḥ śivāya
Chant eleven malas of Kali mantra and then one mala of Shiva Mantra.

Do the Arti of Mahalakshmi at sunrise and chant these two mantras.
