Diwali Pooja 12 November 2023

Diwali is the darkest night of the year and has a strong astrological significance. This is the night when we can achieve wealth, good health and prosperity. This night brings the blessing of Shri and Maha Kaali both. Any person who does the pooja give will see a minimum 25% rise in their financial status and prosperity.

Lakshmi Pooja

We begin the Pooja with Laksmi, Ganesh and Vishnu Pooja. This part is the main part of the whole night. Remember Lakshmi Pooja without worship of Vishnu is not going to be fructified.

Pooja Timing

Lakshmi Pooja is best done when the rising sign is Tauras. This Sthira Lagna ensures that the blessings of Shri is stable. This is the muhurta for worship at home. For offices and businesses, one must choose a Dual or Movable rising sign.

Pooja Vidhi

1. Place a white cloth on the pooja altar and draw seven swastikas from turmeric and kumkum.
2. Cover the left side of the altar with a red piece of cloth. 
3. Cover this altar with Rice and Rose Petals
4. Place the statue of Lakshmi on your left and Ganesh on your right.
5. Lakshmi should be on the red cloth and Ganesh on the white fabric. 
6. Take a clean plate and cover it with rice and rose petals. Place a photo of Shri Vishnu on the plate and keep it behind the Lakshmi statue. 
7. Place the Gold or Silver coins that you bought on Dhanteras in front of Maa Lakshmi.
8. You can also keep a Kalash with Coconut and Mango Leaves on top for Varauna.
9. Now light a mustard oil lamp and a ghee lamp.
10. Keep the Ghee lamp on the left and the oil lamp on the right on heaps of rise.
11. Now do Pancha Upachar or Sodash Upachar Pooja for Ganesh, Lakshmi and Shri Vishnu.
12. One must offer Dhurva Grass to Ganesh and Lotus Flowers to Laksmi and Vishnu
13. You can offer homemade Kheer.
14. People who need to increase their finances must offer elachi (cardamon) and sea salt to Laksmi.
15. During the Pooja keep chanting the Lakshmi Mantra while offering all the stuff.
16. Now Sit down and do the Lakshmi Mantra and then the Ganesh mantra.

Kali Pooja

This is the night of Kali. The best time of the year to worship Kali and start Kali Mantras. Maa Kali has the power to uplift one from sorrow and remove all the negatives of Saturn. She is worshipped at midnight on the eve of Diwali when the rising sign is Leo.

Mahalakshmi Pooja: 13 November 2023

Mahalakshmi is different from Lakshmi. She is worshipped at sunrise to ensure Sattva Guna followed by the Worship of Shri Vishnu. Please take a bath before doing this Pooja.

Time: At Sunrise as per local time.
Do Pancha Upachar Pooja of Maha Lakshmi and then chant the mantras.

Mahalakshmi Mantra:
ॐ श्रीं ह्रीं श्रीं महलक्ष्मयै नमः | om śrīṁ hrīṁ śrīṁ mahalakṣmayai namaḥ

Vishnu Mantra

ॐ नमो भगवते  ऋषिकेशाय | om namo bhagavate ṛṣikeśāya
