Rahu and Ketu transits are a major astrological event. Most people talk about the transit of the nodes but hardly anyone knows how this transit affects everyone. Saturn’s transit and events like Sade Sati and Kantaka Shani are well explained and remedied by many but when it comes to the transit of the Nodes, I see hardly any people do remedies.
The transit of Nodes is much more deadlier than Saturn and Mars transit on the natal horoscope. Due to the fact the Nodes are shadow planets most of their knowledge is hidden and people often ignore them. Maharishi Jaimini talks in a lot of detail about the transit of the Nodes and their impact. Since Jaimini Astrology is one of the most occult subjects in Vedic Astrology hardly people are able to reach a correct interpretation.
Rahu & Ketu
I will not be going into a lot of detail about these planets as most of the texts explain this. Just a few important points to help to further understand their nature.
Rahu is the planet of Bhoga and rebirth. The soul is captured in the 11th house of Aquarius and the process of rebirth starts here. Rahu is Vayu planet denoting very strong winds or storms. Rahu is just an extreme form of Saturn and is more deadlier than Saturn. Rahu also causes death as its main function is to make us breathe. The main issue with Rahu is that when it transits any sign it will damage it very badly but the damage is hidden. Rahu is natural Bhadhak and it will hide its ill deeds till is very late and there is no option of remedy. It is said Rahu’s transit on Lagna can cause a relapse of Cancer or some disease which was cured earlier.
Ketu is the extreme heat and burning. It is the extreme of Mangal and causes serious accidents and mistakes. Ketu is the complete opposite of Rahu reduces all rajas to zero. Ketu causes all the resources to be destroyed and makes the sign zero. Ketu is karmic burning and a place which is having the Rudra energy. Ketu is lord of the natural 8th and 12th houses. Think what kind of energy it bears.
Rahu’s Transit Into Pisces
Rahu is entering into the Sign Pisces on 30th October 2023 and will stay here for the next 18 months. Rahu in Pisces is fantastic as it feels very comfortable and causes financial success to people, but this does not mean it will not cause other troubles during the transit.
People with Pisces Ascendant will have a danger of health issues and a bad reputation. Rahu eclipses the Sun and the significator of Lagna is Sun. So the Karatava of Lagna is hit badly and it will cause effects like a Solar Eclipse on the people with Pisces Ascendant. This same rule can be applied to the people who have Sun or Atma Karaka in Pisces.
The remedy lies in strengthening the Sun and worshipping Shri Dakshinamurti. These two mantras will help you to sail through this transit.
Gayatri Mantra
This mantra activates the Sun and Lagna. It causes to maintenance and protection of the four Dhi(s) and gives the blessing of the Creator God Savitur.
ॐ तत्सवितुर्वरेण्यं भर्गो देवस्य धिमहि। धियो यो नः प्रचोदयात्।
om tatsaviturvareṇyaṁ bhargo devasya dhimahi | dhiyo yo naḥ pracodayāt |
Chanting this Mantra 108 in the morning will give the best results.
Dakshinamurti Mantra
Bhagwan Dakshinamurti is the Guru form of Lord Shiva. He removes all darkness and gives the light of pure gyaan. He has the power to completely block the eclipse power of Rahu.
ॐ नमो भगवते दक्षीणामुर्तीये।
om namo bhagavate dakṣīṇāmurtīye |
This same remedy applies to everyone who has Sun, Atmakaraka or Ascendant in Aries, Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces.
The Moon in Pisces is very nice and calm. As the Moon was born in Pisces he is very comfortable here. Rahu transiting the natal moon causes issues of overthinking, stress and issues related to blood and heart. It can also cause trouble at home or with the mother. The best way to prevent this is to worship Maa Durga and chant her mantra regularly every evening.
ॐ दुर्गे युग रक्षिणी स्वहा।
om durge yuga rakṣiṇī svahā |
This mantra will give complete protection from all problems and Rahu too.
Rahu also causes Arudha to get activated. If you have Satrupada (A6) or Mrityupada (A8) in Pisces or its trines then it will cause serious issues during this transit if the Dasa is also not favourable. A6 causes losses due to enmity and fighting while A8 has the power to destroy health and longevity.
Ketu’s Transit Into Virgo
Ketu’s transit is not as complicated as Rahu’s but it causes equal damage. The simple rule for Ketu’s transit is that it will make everything zero in that house. So if you have Sun in Virgo then Ketu will make your resources or health zero, Moon in Virgo then mental peace and happiness, if Mercury is placed in Virgo it will cause finances or work to dwindle and so on. The planets that are most hit by Ketu are Rajas Grahas i.e. Mercury and Venus.
Ketu destroys all the Arudhas if you have any important Arudha in Virgo like AL or UL then it will cause damage to them. There is no direct remedy for Ketu. He is Maha Rudra not easy to control but doing a Ganesh Mantra will help a lot.
For example, if Ketu is transiting the natal Moon then a Ganesh Mantra with a Dhumavati Mantra or Gauri Mantra will help. Please note married women do not worship Devi Dhumavati.
ॐ गणाय तुभ्यं ज्येष्ठज्येष्ठाय ते नमः।
om gaṇāya tubhyaṁ jyeṣṭhajyeṣṭhāya te namaḥ |
This 13-letter Jyestha Ganesh Mantra will help to maintain the lagna and can be done by anyone.
After the transit of Rahu into Pisces and Ketu into Virgo on 30 October 2023, Rahu and Ketu will form a Parivartana Yoga. This Yoga is only affecting the mind not the body so the remedies will remain the same.
